Quote of the week
Life is our teacher. Life communicates with us all the time and it is a lesson to see how life continuously have led me to the people I need to meet, to the situations I need to experience, and to the places I need to be. There has never been any real reason to worry since all small individual rivers are already on their way to the ocean, to the Whole. It is not about swimming, it is about relaxing and to float with the river in a basic trust that life already leads towards the sea of consciousness, towards the Whole.

Very nice and apt quote. But in todays world, we need to realise that, there are so many factors and forces that are acting as hinderance or an obstacle for the small individual rivers to join the ocean!
The selfish motive of the people around, drain away all the potential of the river, before it can reach its destination.. so the river remains a failure :(. Na anda rivera kutham sollala, coz it hits against so many small rocks, stones and other small small barriers, it is making all the efforts to fight, but when something big like Dam is constructed against it.. adu ena panum paavam. Even then, it helps the ones who has obstructed its way. :-)
But man made obstacles are temporary (in ur analogy, the Dam is bound to break down either by itself or by reaching its full capacity one day). Nothing is permanent except change! maybe someday people may give up their selfish motives and see things which are larger than life..
Not sure if we'll live to see that happening, but might be bound to happen some day
:-) Wish the obstacles break down fast! Keeping fingers crossed
it will.. but will/must be a collective change
The essence of any river lies in its flow..or else it would be a stagnant pond..it has to meet barriers, flow around or break down stones in its path and just keep doing its duty..which is to flow and meet and merge into the larger ocean..As for Dams..it does benefit someone,if not the river itself and so greater good is being done..'can the river be selfish and say I have to think abt my own good'..?
So ultimately, things have to be seen in a farer, wider perspective..and eventually,in some place hitherto unseen..good is being or will be done..for that is the way of life..
nicely said MJ.
